ESTATE PLANNING,
ADMINISTRATION AND LITIGATION

Stern Tannenbaum & Bell represents U.S. and non-U.S. high net-worth individuals in connection with complex estate, gift and income tax planning and administration matters. The unique issues facing these clients and their families receive highly individualized and dedicated attention.

We coordinate our work closely with our clients’ investment advisors to integrate their investment ideas with their selected planning vehicles, whether private business interests or trusts. A number of generous (indeed, inspiring) philanthropists turn to Stern Tannenbaum & Bell for our experience in matters of charitable giving.

We also represent private clients in difficult, strenuously contested and often emotional matters concerning estates and inheritances, both in negotiations and in litigation.  These cases may involve not only testamentary documents such as wills and trusts, but also disagreements with other family members or others relating to the administration of assets. Our advice to institutional and individual fiduciaries can often prevent disputes with beneficiaries regarding their activities before disagreements arise.

Finally, we work extensively with a variety of not-for-profit entities, many created by our clients, on regulatory and governance matters.  Our expertise in this area is informed by our partners’ practical experience on the boards of many organizations in the New York metropolitan area.
